Most people assume Winter in New England means down time for farmers. That could not be further from the truth for us. Because we specialize in root vegetables, we start to come into our busy season right at harvest time and throughout the winter months. Nothing brings us more joy than being able to deliver fresh veggies all winter long to our customers and vendors.
Curious how we can pull that off? Drop us a line - we love to chat!
We’re a small family owned and operated farm with locations in Aroostook County, Maine, and Central Mass. We’re dedicated to the propagation and subsistence of classic heirloom varieties.
Hobbit Hole was founded on the belief that everyone should have easy access to delicious, wholesome, and completely natural food, without fear of what was sprayed on their food before it arrived to their dinner plate. We firmly believe that good food not only nourishes the body, but it can also help in the healing process of any ailments we encounter in our daily lives.
We favor the use of heirloom and open pollinating varieties, which have long stood the test of time, in every type of growing condition. We champion varieties which will do just as well in a damp year as they will in a dry, hot summer. They are the varieties your great-grandparents tended to in their kitchen gardens, and the ones which will long outlast hybridized and genetically modified strains.
We pride ourselves in providing you with the freshest produce you’ll be proud to serve up to your family and friends, and let them experience the difference that heirlooms' provide, now and in the years to come. Please feel free to send us an email and let us know how we're doing, or if you have any questions or concerns you'd like addressed. We always appreciate feedback.
CSA Share Contract
Hobbit Hole Farm CSA Contract
Our Philosophy: At Hobbit Hole Farm, we always strive to bring our customers top quality produce. We use sustainable and wholesome growing practices, and only use OMRI approved additions when necessary. In following these practices though, we understand that we may occasionally encounter obstacles in the process. Issues with pests or diseases may arise during the growing season, resulting in decreased yields, or worst case, crop losses. Although we always strive to handle our crops with the best care possible, we understand that Mother Nature does not always cooperate with our best laid plans. In these cases, where if we do experience a decrease in yield or a crop loss, we assure our customers that we will work to substitute this loss, issue a refund or offer up a credit. We do reserve the right to choose how to handle this loss, at our discretion.
Hobbit Hole Farm believes in farming with transparency. We do not believe in hiding anything from our customers. We always encourage everyone to ask questions and follow us through Facebook and our website. It is our belief that if we have every right to know exactly what goes into the food we put into our own bodies, then you should too.
Payment: Payment made be made either by check, cash, or our website. Checks are made payable to Hobbit Hole Farm. Any cash payments should be arranged with a member of Hobbit Hole Farm. I agree to open and respond to any emails as is necessary. Please add firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book, so as to prevent spam filtering.

For scheduled deliveries, we please ask that you also observe the delivery times and be available to receive your share promptly. If, for any reason, you cannot make a scheduled pickup or delivery, please contact us ASAP to make alternate arrangements, otherwise you may forfeit the right to your share for that given week (where applicable).
Cancellations/Suspensions: We understand that sometimes life can get in the way of enjoying great produce. If for any reason you find you must cancel or suspend your CSA membership, please contact us directly at 774-258-0161 / email@example.com. Although full refunds will not be issued, we will do our best to accommodate your individual situation. You may also choose to transfer your membership to another individual if you so choose. Acknowledgment and Agreement *
By clicking the agree button below, I acknowledge that I have read this contract and understand that I am entering into this contract with Hobbit Hole Farm. With this, I understand that I am not only taking a risk with the farm, but also enjoying the bountiful harvests that may come. I understand that the share(s) I purchase may be altered at any point if the farm experiences a crop loss or decline in yield. In this case I do not hold the farm, or any of its representatives, responsible and agree to allow Hobbit Hole Farm the ability to use their own discretion in handling any possible crop deficit. I understand that the weather and the growing season is always unpredictable and Hobbit Hole Farm will continue to do their best to overcome these challenges.
